Supreme Court of India Refuses Apologies from Baba Ramdev and Patanjali MD in Contempt Case over Misleading Advertisements

Today, the Supreme Court of India made a decision regarding a case involving Baba Ramdev, the founder of Patanjali Ayurved, and the Managing Director of Patanjali, Acharya Balkrishna. This case revolves around advertisements for Patanjali’s medicinal products that were found to be misleading.

The Supreme Court refused to accept apologies from Ramdev and Balkrishna regarding their actions in this matter. The court is particularly concerned about advertisements by Patanjali claiming that their products can cure various medical conditions.

Both Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna were required to appear in court today to address these concerns. The case is being heard by a bench of judges, including Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah.

The court expressed dissatisfaction with Patanjali’s failure to comply with a previous court order issued on February 27. This order had requested a response from Patanjali and its Managing Director regarding the misleading advertisements.
