IndiGo Plane Strikes Stationary Air India Express Aircraft
IndiGo aircraft collided with a stationary Air India Express plane during taxiing in Kolkata on Wednesday. As a result, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation removed pilots from duty.
A spokesperson from Air India Express stated that the wingtip of an IndiGo aircraft brushed against their stationary plane, which was awaiting clearance to enter the runway for a scheduled flight to Chennai from Kolkata.
“The affected aircraft has been brought back to the bay, and a thorough investigation is ongoing. We are closely coordinating with the regulatory authority and airport authorities,” the spokesperson mentioned, expressing apologies for any inconvenience caused to passengers due to the incident’s external factors.
